Wyoma is a dance performance artist and teacher. She is creator of the African healing dance and offers classes, workshops, and trainings in this holistic integrated model of movement and healing. She is a consultant and advisor in the arts and has traveled and taught extensively in east, west, and south Africa. For over 35 years, Wyoma has offered a huge creative canvas to explore the human and divine forces of nature through traditional African, Caribbean, and Brazilian dance. Her mission has been the restoration, preservation, and maintenance of these rich African traditions. Wyoma is a member of Sini Sanuman to help abolish FGM.

Dance Performance Artist
Wyoma brings extensive experience and inspiring spirit to her collaborative efforts and solo performances. She has performed as a solo and group artist since 1977. She has also directed Damballa, a dynamic troupe of dancers and musicians based in Boulder, Colorado. She's a co-founder of Ngoma Drum and Dance in Boston. Her current performances include solo and group work in dances of African diaspora and original creative works.
Wyoma trained and collaborated with many inspiring masters including Baba Olatunji, Yvonne Daniel, Rosemarie Guiraud and Les Guivoires, Kobla Ladzepko and Dzidzorgbe Lawluvi. Wyoma received a BA degree in dance from Naropa University in Boulder, CO. in 1982. This life's work for Wyoma is always renewing and evolving.
Dance is honored as a transformative and spiritual endeavor and Wyoma has become a creative force for transformation for her students, audiences, and associate performers. Central to her approach is the recognition of our bodies own inherent wisdom.

Wyoma works with educators, students, individuals, and groups utilizing dance therapy, counseling, stress management techniques, intuitive healing massage, guided imagery, meditation, and yoga. She offers practices and tools for healing and ways for you to access the healer within.
